Design Applications Specialist
Description
- Design/space plan and specify creative solutions with systems, freestanding, and architectural product solutions.
- Support technical design requirements such as space planning, typical development, product specifications, and finish selection.
- Utilize CET, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and 2020 Worksheet.
- Interpret customer criteria, understand product objective to translate and develop designs that support, illustrate, and visualize furniture and architectural product solutions.
- Develop designs that support, illustrate, and visualize furniture and architectural product solutions.
- Impact the selling process by providing unique design applications, color, and finish schemes, to provide a valued final solution that will improve our customer experience and win rate.
- Interpret sketches and construction document sets best apply product recommendations solve customer problems.
- Provide consultative selling support that promotes relevant and impactful solutions to internal and external customers through in person discussions, CET LIVE design, and virtual experiences.
- Review, interpret, and respond to RFI, RFQ, and RFP documents to provide product recommendations and specifications for bid responses.
- Utilize value-engineering principles and incorporate information from Tailored Products and Product Development to create and recommend cost-effective, comprehensive design solutions.
- Provide details and information in a quick, clean, effective manner and demonstrate team services and processes with competency and professionalism.
- Submit and manage tailored product options for engineer-to-order applications.
- Provide sketches, notes, and illustrations/renderings to recommend product applications and visually communicate design intent or product recommendations.
- Complete on-going product training and demonstrate planning directives for Allsteel/Gunlocke/HNI product solutions.
- Associates Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field or equal experience preferred.
- 1-2 years minimum experience in space planning, architectural product specification, and project management is preferred.
- CET, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Cap, and 2020 Worksheet experience strongly preferred.
- Experience successfully managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- NCIDQ and/or LEED certifications preferred.
