Job Summary

The Summer Human Resources Assistant Intern will provide support to the Human Resources team with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the department.

The Intern will also be provided specific project(s) problem to work on and will be required to prepare a presentation for the leadership team at the end their internship to report their findings/ recommendation.

Job Description

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide the first point of contact for the Human Resources Department and respond to various inquires including:
    • Employment verifications
    • Workday password resets
  • Update Human Resources records
    • Personnel files
    • Workday
    • Health and safety recordkeeping
  • Assist with the full-cycle recruiting process
    • Will receive and submit ERs for approval
    • Administer drug testing policy
    • Assist in coordinating interview schedules
    • Create and maintain supply of new hire packets and materials
    • Receive and submit timecards for all temps
    • Assist in new hire orientation
  • Administer HR Programs
    • Core value Awards
    • Service Awards
    • Montlhy birthday/anniversary celebrations
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team
    • Assist in creation of the monthly control book
    • Assist in creation of PowerPoint presentations
  • Arrange catering for miscellaneous meetings and events
  • Coordinate creation and distribution of monthly employee newsletter
  • Assist with other HR projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • The intern must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors program at an accredited school, with a focus on Human Resources

Experience

Essential

  • Experience with and knowledge of benefit plans
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects on a continuous basis with frequest interruptions and be able to manage time effectively
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and feel comfortable presenting to groups
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to hold high levels of confidentiality and use discretion in all communications
  • Must have excellent organization skills and attention to detail
